TEENAGE left-hander Sam Arnold made a personal senior best 91 not out as South Wilts III ran amok, scoring a massive 282-4 in the 86-run win over Hartley Wintney II on the Bemerton Academy Ground.
A match reduced to 40-overs per side due to pre-match rain saw South Wilts launch a flurry of sixes and fours out of the ground – principally when skipper Steve Kidd and Luke Hansford were at the crease.
Arnold had looked set for a maiden Hants League century until Kidd (55) – including two sixes and eight fours – and Hansford got going with a whirlwind 49.
South Wilts’ 282-4 was far beyond Hartley Wintney, who began solidly and closed at 196-7.
