TONY Bennett defied the odds to execute two visits to the podium after controlled racing at Castle Combe.
The Bishopstone driver steered his way to a well-earned silver in the circuit’s Racing Clubs Sports and GT race, where he held off stiff challenges from faster cars, and third in the The Classic Sports Car Club Magnificent Seven’s race.
His success followed a treble at the Spa Summer Classic event.
Away from Castle Combe, Salisbury's Stuart Waite had a day of mixed fortunes in the Toyo Tyres Production BMW Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire on Saturday.
Qualifying second among a field of 27, Waite won the first race. He maintained the lead in the second race until a technical glitch in the last lap pushed him back to eighth overall.
