SALISBURY and South Wilts hot prospect Robin Welding ended the Wiltshire Junior Championships in a satisfying third place.
Welding was among 50 young golfers all setting their sights on a medal position, at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club on August 28.
The inclement weather presented a challenge in each category, including the scratch boys. The best score of the day was 72 from victor Max Drayton, Jamie Cooper with 75 and Welding 76.
David Lewis, secretary of Wiltshire County Golf Union, said: “It was great to see so many young golfers, ranging from as young as six up to 18-years-old, enjoy the competition.
“They were given a very warm welcome by the Ogbourne Downs Golf Club members and staff who turned out to help on the day.”
