THE administrators in charge of Salisbury City FC have vowed to work tirelessly to ensure the club overcomes its financial woes.

Just over two-weeks ago the Whites were entered into administration at The High Court by the owner of LED Synergy Jeremy Harewood, who is a consortium board member bidding to take control of the club.

Portland Business Support and Advice, who handled the club’s administration in 2009, are now in charge of the day-to-day running of the football club.

Portland’s Mike Fortune and Carl Faulds have been appointed co-administrators of the club and are in the process of unravelling its “true” financial position, while considering a host of factors involved in guaranteeing football returns to Old Sarum.

Mike Fortune said: “We are working hard to try to ensure the survival of Salisbury City Football Club and are also speaking to a number of parties who have expressed an interest in securing the future of the club.

“As part of our role, we are looking at the options available to the club with regard to bringing football back to the Ray Mac, as soon as practically possible. We have discussed the position with the Football Conference and the FA to try to ascertain the options available. These discussions are at an early stage so we cannot provide any more detail.

“We have also spoken to the solicitors representing the trust which owns the football stadium and have discussed the options available and sought their views as regard the continuing use of the stadium. They are seeking their client’s instructions and discussions are ongoing.”

Salisbury’s financial turmoil culminated in being eliminated from the Football Conference in the summer. They appealed the decision but it was rejected, and at the time Moroccan businessman Otail Touzar was the majority shareholder.

They now are currently in limbo and last kicked a ball on August 2 at home to Wiltshire Premier League side Shrewton United. Steve Claridge was set to be revealed as Mikey Harris’s successor at the time.

Mr Fortune added: “One of our immediate priorities is to establish the true financial position and determine the list of creditors. To assist us in this regard, any person who believes they are a creditor of the club should write to us with details of the amount owed to them at the address below, or email the details to us at mike.fortune@portbfs.co.uk.”
