IT was another fantastic matchday for Eddie Perrett who smashed a second consecutive hat-trick as unstoppable Amesbury Town thumped Hamworthy United 5-2.
Perrett repeated his trio against Ringwood, with help from striking partner Danny Finnigan and Cameron Roach, to help The Blues advance to the next stage of the Sydenhams League Cup.
They are joined alongside Wessex Premier outfit Bemerton Heath Harlequins, who were 2-1 winners over Moneyfields. Tom Roberts’ penalty and Jack Slade’s winner secured victory at Western Way.
In the third round, both teams travel away, with Bemerton going to Andover and Amesbury heading on a ferry to the Isle of Wight where they will lock horns with Newport (IOW).
Downton, hammered at Cowes Sports 7-0, and Laverstock and Ford, 3-1 losers at home to Alresford Town, bowed out of the competition.
