LONG-STANDING Dave Rawkins has left his managerial post at Sarum Youth Seniors to fulfil family commitments.

Rawkins resigned to support his teenage son Jake, pictured, who has signed for Southern League 1 outfit AFC Totton.

During his time at Castle Meadows, Rawkins took the under 14s through to the top level of county football – Wiltshire Premier League.

“Because of recent family circumstances, I feel I can no longer give the full commitment and time needed to run a side, which is the least the players and club deserve,” Rawkins told the Journal.

“I feel it is the best decision for the players, and the club, to continue to move forward, which I’m sure they will do under new manager (Dan Cousins, pictured below).Salisbury Journal:

“I would like to thank the club for their support over the past few years and wish them every success in the future.

“I have had a great journey with these players, taking them from local under 14s football into the top county level. I cannot praise them enough for their bravery, effort and commitment over this time and it has been a real pleasure watching them turn from boys to men. I hope they go on to fulfil their potential both on and off the pitch.”
