CITY of Salisbury road runners made up for their recent loss of ground in the strongly-contested Hampshire league with a number of good performances at the Stubbington Green 10k, near Gosport.

Stuart Holloway led the Salisbury contingent, placing fourth in his age category and 14th overall with a more encouraging 33min 29sec.

This time was less than a minute off his best ever even though nearly three minutes adrift of the currently unstoppable winner Toby Lambert of Winchester AC.

Similarly satisfied with his morning’s work was Mike Brewster, recently back to racing after an injuryenforced absence, his 35.33 supported by Shaun Newton with a promising 38.23 and Ian Shelley 38.59 to complete the men’s A team.

Recent arrival Laura Buchanan was first of the club’s ladies, her 43.54 a good lead out for Sarah Brewster with 45.16 and Ali Restall 48.49.

Other finishers were Steve Auton 39.18, Andy Budgell 40.31, Nick Willetts pb 40.59, Mike White 41.56, Darren Clissold 43.55, Craig Murphy 45.18, John Ruskin 49.04, Nick Hudson 50.21, Liz Roberts 50.57, Andy Robbins 51.49, Jacqueline Chlebowski 52.50 (pb) and Rod Smith 54.32.
