ELATED Laverstock and Ford toppled the division leaders with a momentous cup win.

Hard-fought Lavvy lifted the Graham Chalke Cup after beating Salisbury and District (Sunday) Division One League champions-elect Rose and Crown 2-1 at Downton’s Wick Lane.

The leaders, who need just two points to confirm the title is theirs, slipped up in Good Friday’s early kick-off.

It was a rare defeat for Rose Crown, who boast a terrific league haul with only one defeat to their name and a superior goal difference of 93.

They do, however, have a second bite of the cherry for trophy silverware this month.

This time round, they go toe-to-toe with second-placed St Pauls Club, who are refusing to lie down easily, on Sunday, April 26 (11am) at Downton again.

That is the last Sunday final to take place as the other two cups – Charity C Cup and Stonehenge Cup – were won by Barford Hornets, seeing-off James Hay 2-0 and New Sarum 5-1.
