WHAT a monumental season for Alderbury FC who masterminded the desirable quadruple.

The village side added to their Premier Cup, Morrison Cup and Wiltshire Junior Cup after winning the Salisbury and District (Saturday) Premier League at Porton Sports on Saturday.

They signed off a terrific term in emphatic finish, smashing five, without reply, past their opponents, which sparked ecstatic celebrations.

Knowing just a point would be enough to claim the title, the nerves were eased early on when Luke Hatchman poked home the opener from Mark Scott’s assist.

Alderbury extended their lead with two goals in the space of ten minutes, Hatchman notching up a brace before Scott netted his 60th goal of the campaign to give the visitors a safe half time lead.

They sustained their groove in the second period as Gavin Ware, who nearly broke his duck with an exquisite free kick, got his maiden goal from the spot after Dean Reynolds had been tripped up.

And a fifth was fired home in the latter stages through Ben Neale.

The champagne corks were popped and the party started when the full-time whistle was blown, to confirm the astounding journey Simon Sharpes’ men had completed.

At the end of play, Alderbury finished six points clear of runners-up Stockton and Codford, who lost 5-0 to The Wanderers.
