STEEPLE Langford kept their perfect season intact with a comfortable 51 victory on the road at Whiteparish.

Put into bat, Langford were quickly into the runs with skipper Andy Bennett and Adam McNeilly putting on 47 in the opening10 overs before McNeilly (23) feathered one to the keeper.

It brought Adi Hughes to the crease and he and Bennett pushed the score along to 125 at the drinks break with a big score looking on the cards.

However, Whiteparish struck back, pegging the league leaders by bowling them out for 229 off the last ball of the innings.

In reply, the home side lost two quick wickets with Nick Partridge clean bowling both and breaking two stumps in the process.

His pace and movement caused the Whiteparish batsmen problems and wickets fell regularly, despite Hamblin (55) keeping one end intact.

With the run-rate ever increasing they petered out to 178-8 with Partridge taking an excellent 3-26 from 10 overs and young Liam Harvey a fine 3-30 from seven.
