SOUTH Wilts thirds' long winning run came to a soggy end at a damp Michelmersh & Timsbury.
Batting was tough, and South Wilts posted 146 all out. No batsman could make a significant contribution, although plenty chipped in as Dan Wall (29) and Jody Everett (22) top-scoring.
Accurate bowling from South Wilts' young attack pegged M &T back and at 98-6, South Wilts were well in the game. Tom Lewis had taken 1-17 off his 10 and Dan Wall 3-15. However, Tom Pratt (33no) added to his 3-15 from earlier in the day to secure a four wicket win for the hosts.
Meanwhile, South Wilts fourths' winless streak extended to three games after losing out to New Milton 3rds by the narrowest of two-run margins.
South Wilts firsts will face the might of Wimbledon - the former national champions - in their own Church Road back yard in Sunday's NatWest t20 Club regional finals.
They play the second semi-final at 1.15pm - after East Grinstead have taken on Blackheath.
