A SALISBURY weightlifter is flexing his muscles to raise funds for a woman who requires life-changing treatment.
Gary Topley is drumming up support for Claire Brown with a sponsored 1,500-tonne lift.
The funds raised from 10am on March 5 at Salisbury Weightlifting Club are in aid of the 27-year-old who suffers spinal damage and Functional Neurological Disorder.
The hospital technician started the campaign after the NHS denied funding for the treatment.
She hopes to raise £50,000 to spend 15-weeks at Glenside, a rehabilitation centre in South Newton which provides specialist treatment for people with brain injuries.
She said: “I’m so overwhelmed at all the love and support you have all shown me. I cannot thank you enough.”
Exercises at the 10am event include, squats, bench presses and dead lifts.
