Keeper Charlie Searle rejoins Salisbury for second loan spell

Searle first signed for the Whites from the Hawks, who were relegated from National South, at the turn of the new year and went on to make 23 appearances.

In Gareth Barfoot's absence, Searle became Steve Claridge's first choice keeper.

"It's nice to have Charlie back," said Claridge. "He's a great lad with a great work ethic. Not only is he an excellent goalkeeper but he's smashing to have around the dressing room."

Searle is in Claridge's squad tomorrow for the club's first pre-season friendly with the visit of Sky Bet League One outfit Bristol Rovers (1pm).

But he won't be joined by injured Kane O'Keefe, Calum Brockway, Callum Hart and Reece Rusher while Claudio Herbert, Robbie Matthews and Jack Vallis are unavailable.

For Rovers, ex-Whites Stuart Sinclair and Will Puddy have been named in Darrell Clarke's team but there's no James Clarke, who is involved in tonight's friendly against Mangotsfield.

Former gashead Jamie White is joining Blackfield and Langley in the Sydenhams Wessex League while Joe Noakes, who was training with the squad, has opted to sign for AFC Portchester, more local to him, due to new work commitments.

"This is going to be a tough test for our first game," added Claridge.

"Rovers have done magnificently under Darrell over the past couple of seasons in winning promotion from the Conference and League One and it is no surprise they have rewarded him this week with a new three-year contract.

"We're still putting some finishing touches to our squad for this season but I think we are stronger than this time last year when we lost 4-1 at home to them. "It's just a shame we are missing some big players who are still injured from last season.
