BISHOP Wordsworth's pupil Jaymee Domoney flew the flag for Wiltshire at the English Schools' Athletics Championships.
Taking centre stage at the Gateshead Stadium, the City of Salisbury club's budding star put down a marker in his qualifying 1500m heat. He outsprinted
his rivals in the finishing straight and surged to a fine win, stopping the clock at 4mins 3.32sec.
In a high quality final, he shattered his previous best with 3min 56.15 sec to claim fifth place out of 12 runners.
IN the quieter and more rural surroundings of the New Forest 10mile multi terrain race, Lee Syrett was the club’s best on the day with a steady 68min 30sec that put him almost a minute ahead of the consistent Mike White’s 69.26.
Nicky Yevko showed she is returning to racing speed with a time of 72.29 and was followed by Jane Whiteley with 89.19 and Colin Martin 116.30.
