COOMBE Bissett's Hannah Drewett clinched a place on the podium after an excellent race at the Weymouth 70.3 Ironman.

The triathlete, who had led early on in the water, eventually finished third in the women's category in a time of five hours, one minute and 11 seconds.

Ahead of Drewett was Natalia Seymour with 4.44.49 and the winner was Emma Pallant, who crossed the line in 4.40.16.

In the men's race, first was Harry Wiltshire in 4.10.41, second Stuart Hayes 4.11.43 and third Yvan Jarrige 4.12.12.

Members from Salisbury Tri Club were also out in force at Weymouth.

Nigel Peterson was Salisbury’s first athlete home in 5.32.04.

Next was Lizzie Kershaw, completing her first half ironman in a time of 7.06.46.
