TWO City of Salisbury runners were among the top places at the testing Great Wishford multi-terrain 10k.

In the race in which the first 2,000m rapidly splits the field, Reece Ingram ran well to take fourth place in 43min 7sec and in fifth was Jonathan Croom with 43.32.

Andy Gillespie clocked 50.01, only just ahead of Ruth Thom in 50.14, she was followed by Charlotte Ingram in 52.35 and Ann-Marie Hazzard with 60.08.

In the New Forest half marathon Lee Syrett was Salisbury's best, stopping the clock in 90.47. Backing him up were Nick Hudson with 93.39 and Stuart Robinson 106.47.

The club's best performance of the day though was at the same venue over the full marathon distance at which Phil Perry showed the benefit of consistent training mileage. He finished in the top 100 with a creditable 3 hours 41mins that will stand him in good stead on a faster course.

Another good run came from Mike White in the Andover trail half marathon where he took third place in 98min 1 sec, just a minute down on the winner.

Then came Nick Cooke with a good 101.55, Craig Murphy 111.27, Mel Murphy 123.54 and Will Witt 156.39.

In the half marathon starting at Corfe Castle and covering the many climbs along the coastal path, Liz Roberts ran a fine 2hours 29min 46sec.
