DISASTER struck at the Jelf Stadium as ten-man Salisbury crashed to a 3-1 defeat at lowly Yate Town.

It was the Whites' first Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West loss in four games.

But things got off to a bright start for the visitors as they went ahead shortly after the half-hour mark.

Kieran Parselle crossed the ball into the danger area and Whites' top scorer Tommy Wright, who is keeping summer coup Justin Bennett on the bench, headed home.

Mitch Tippins, on as a substitute, crossed into the box where he found Charlie Hitchings to power the ball into the net for the leveller eight minutes after the restart.

The momentum was in Yate’s favour and they went ahead when Tippins, again, provided the ball for Kyle Thomas to prod home.

Moments later, things went from bad to worse for Salisbury as Tom Whelan was sent off following a melee.

And in the dying embers the hosts grabbed a third, Jack Ball with the finish.

The result sees Whites slip to ninth in the standings.

They are back in action tomorrow night at home to Didcot Town (7.45pm).
