LAVERSTOCK and Ford chalked up a sixth successive win in all competitions after coming from behind to overcome a resilient Romsey Town in a full-blooded encounter at the Dell on Saturday.

Romsey got their noses in front on 18 minutes, Kieran Hancock slipped his marker to smash home.

Four minutes later, Russell Jones got his side back on level terms after finishing well when under pressure, despite the keeper's best efforts.

It was honours even at the interval.

The second half saw Laverstock dominate the possession which resulted in multiple chances, Russ Jones and Joe Sanger were thwarted on numerous occasions by the in-form Jordan Westbrook in the Romsey goal.

On 72 minutes, it looked as though Romsey would snatch the points, Harry Hale giving the visitors a penalty, but John Mulherne's effort was parried by Alexis Aguer.

The save seemed to inspire the home side and Graham Mankin rose highest to power home a corner in the dying embers for victory.

Co-managers Liam McConnell and Robbie Lakeman said: "Credit to Romsey, they are a tough side who will challenge anyone in this league, we really had to believe and dig deep.

"We should have been clear but, in the end, we have to thank Alexis for keeping us level and it gave us the push we needed, and thankfully Graham was there to land the three points."
