SPIRITS are high in the Salisbury Hockey Ladies' camp as they enter the six-week festive break in third place.
The Lower Bemerton outfit bounced back from their defeat at home to leaders Newent after romping to a 5-1 win at Redland UWE in West Club's Premier Division 2A.
Salisbury started on form and went 1-0 up from a well-taken goal put into the roof of the net by Lisa Lovatt.
The visitors' free-flowing hockey continued and two more goals were scored.
A second arrived from a deflected short corner by Josie Steinson before Rosie Bond slotted a third home.
Redland UWE then put Salisbury under a lot of pressure, forcing Alana Mercer to make a great save before pulling one back prior to the interval.
After the turnaround, Lisa Lovatt put away a good base line pass from Kerry Jackson and a well-struck short corner by Ellen Trott rounded off the scoring to ensure Salisbury won 5-1.
Salisbury's next game isn't until Saturday, January 14 2017 when they host second-placed Gloucester seconds.
