THE South West’s biggest multi-discipline sporting event returns for its 29th year and is set to attract thousands of entries.

The Neolithic Marathon, organised by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, is set against the stunning backdrop of Avebury and Salisbury Plain.

Aside from the 26 mile run, there is a half marathon, 10k and 5k runs and three different cycle routes.

All races take place on April 30.

Entrants from the likes of Hong Kong, Canada, Italy and the Netherlands are set to take part.

It is Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s biggest fundraising event of the year and the charity is hoping to raise £25,000 to help support their conservation work across the county.
