IT’S showtime for Salisbury.

The Whites have two top-of-the-table clashes on back-to-back Saturdays.

First up is a trip to third-placed Tiverton Town, knowing victory would leapfrog them in the Southern League Division South and West play-off places.

And the following Saturday (March 25) they host runaway leaders Hereford.

“Two massive weeks and two massive games but it won’t be won or lost over the next two games for us,” said boss Steve Claridge, “but we could certainly do ourselves a big favour by getting two results.

“It’s a huge challenge and we know they are very good sides.”

Whites will travel to Ladysmead, where the Devon outfit have lost just twice, without all-time record scorer Justin Bennett.

After netting the opener in Whites’ 3-1 Cathedral Derby victory over Winchester City - his 41st goal in all competitions - he later hobbled off with a hamstring injury.

The marksman joins Callum Hart, Brian Dutton, Calum Brockway, Danny Young and Christopher Onoufriou on the casualty list.

“We’ll have to wait and see how bad it is,” added Claridge, whose side have won nine league matches on the spin.

“It could be two weeks, two months or the end of the season.

“We will have to reassess once it settles down.

“It’s a concern, like every injury we get.

“It just felt like we turned a corner and we were starting to get people fit and well.

“We played two or three games and there’s another three or four out. I’m just disappointed.”

“This is the business end of the season, we’re here now which is where we needed to get. It’s in our hands. Even after this time, we are still struggling for bodies.”

Claridge hopes that some players will be fit to make a return for the home game against Hereford, who are 10 points clear at the summit.

That clash has been made an all-ticket affair as the Whites are acting on the advice of the Southern Football League.

It follows problems involving Bulls fans during their recent visit to Didcot Town.

Hereford had to submit a lengthy report to the Football Association after crowd trouble had forced the game at Didcot’s Loop Meadow Stadium to be abandoned.

The club are awaiting the results of the investigation into the pitch invasion and what possible punishment may be imposed.

Normal pricing will apply and seat transfers and car parking will remain at £1 each.
