GRAHAM Kemp’s time at Bemerton Heath Harlequins has come to an end. He took his side to two cup finals and finished 11th in the Sydenhams Premier Division.

Kemp, who has been at the club just over two years, grew frustrated by player unavailability.

The club has played a total of 65 games this year, which Kemp said was too much for such a small squad.

He added: “It has been a frustrating season, which promised so much until December and then fell apart.”

Kemp also said: “The club have been amazing to me and I truly hope the local lads get behind the new manager and they can build a new local side to compete at the top end of the table.”

Chairman Steve Slade spoke about the departure of Kemp and said: “Kemp is an excellent manager.

“We will be sorry to see him go.

“He has achieved as much as he can.”

Rae Hughes has now become manager of the club following his move from Downton.

Hughes has already made changes at the club bringing in former Whites striker Robbie Matthews, who was playing for Winchester City last season. He will join the club as player/assistant manager.

Along with long-serving clubman Andy Nash, he will join the management team.

Additionally he has secured the services of Captain Jack Slade for his 14th year at the club.

The club is also planning on running a reserves team and are currently looking for players.
