AVON Valley pupil Jasmin Edwards is a British champion in judo.
The 13-year-old won gold in Scotland where she represented Western England, in the pre-cadets under 48 category contest.
This gold medal follows Jasmin winning a bronze medal at the British Championships in Sheffield in December in the under 44 pre-cadets.
Jasmin has been doing judo for five years starting at school before joining Devizes Judo Club.
She trains twice a week at the county club and also attends Bath University twice a month to train She also trains in Walsall for the England team six hours a month.
Jasmin’s mum said that she struggled with confidence before she took up the sport, but has plenty now having made lots of friends through the sport.
The gold medal winner, has now set her sights on representing Team GB and one day, the Olympics.
