THIS weekend saw Salisbury Tri club members head down to Buckler’s Hard for the Race New Forest Swashbuckler Triathlon.

Racing in the standard distance event, over a course comprising of a 1.3 km swim, 40km bike and 11km run, were Wayne Reynolds, Rithy Hy, Dudley Kent, David Williams and Alan Sawyer.

Wayne Reynolds finished first in category and eighth overall, with a time of 2:32. Rithy Hy was next over the line in 2:42, third in category and 23rd overall. Dudley Kent was the next finisher for STC, in 3:05. David Williams followed him completing his race in 3:26. Alan Sawyer crossed the line shortly after in 3:32.

Nigel Peterson took part in the Middle Distance event at Buckler’s Hard, racing over distances of 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 22km run. He finished eighth in category, 65th overall, in a very strong time of 5:13. Phil Beaven raced the Eton Sprint triathlon, his first time at this distance. He finished in a pleasing time of 1:27.

Well done too to Rich Straughan who came third out of 358 in Saturday’s Slateman Sprint Tri and 15th out of 960 in Sunday’s Slateman Full, Snowdonia.

STC’s next outing will be the Durrington Triathlon on Sunday May 28.
