MATTHEW Hammond was back in action in his mini at Silverstone National race track over June 3 and 4.

In the first of the three races, he qualified second on the grid but after dropping back to fourth had to battle his way back eventually finishing in second position.

In the second race, he also started and finished in second place and again achieved the fastest lap.

There was a reverse grid start in the third race meaning that the first five drivers’ starting position was reversed.

This meant Matthew started in fourth place. He battled through to second and was gaining on the leading car when the race was red flagged due to an accident.

Positions were given as they stood when the race was stopped meaning Matthew finished second and again had the fastest lap.

Matthew achieved three podium finishes, all for second place, three fastest laps and also the Sunoco trophy was awarded to Matthew for ‘best driver of the weekend'.
