GODOLPHIN recently held their annual Sports Awards and welcomed Hollie Webb MBE, Olympic gold medallist and Great Britain hockey player, as the guest speaker at the event.

Hollie made a speech before handing out medals and awards, and spoke about her journey to the Olympics final in Rio in 2016 culminating in a video which scored the winning goal that won Great Britain the gold medal during the penalty shoot-out.

One of the main awards – for outstanding achievement in athletics – went to Anna Merritt for being ranked first in the UK in U15 discus and third in the hammer. International honours were awarded to Isobel White, U19A Wales, and Emily Caswell, U19A England, with Most Improved Performer to Milly Barker and Sports Personality to Honor Westall.

For the third time, Emily Caswell received Sports Woman of the Year, for her outstanding contribution to a wide range of sports teams at Godolphin.

Sarah Pokai, head of sport said: "It was a privilege to hear Hollie’s inspirational story and see how it affected the girls, who were visibly moved by her words.  What a fitting celebration of an exceptional year in Godolphin Sport."
