SALISBURY FC have added to their squad with the signing of forward Alex Battle.
The 18-year-old has joined on a one-month loan from Plymouth Argyle.
Battle joined the Pilgrims' academy when he was 14 and his consistent performances, not only scoring goals but also assisting, helped the academy achieve promotion from the Youth Alliance League to the Peninsula Premier League.
Following the completion of his two-year apprenticeship, Battle earned himself a professional development contract from the Football League One’s club's manager Derek Adams.
And Whites boss Steve Claridge has told the club website: “He looked excellent in training.”
“He showed a good attitude and I was pleased with what I saw. He has a good touch and looks an all-round player.”
The striker will go straight into the squad that will take on Larkhall Athletic at the Ray Mac tomorrow.
As the game falls on Armistice Day, there will be a short ceremony of remembrance before kick-off with chairman Ian Hammond, representing the club, and Major Lee Roberts, of The Rifles, laying wreaths. Members of the military are being offered entry to the game at the reduced price of £5.
