Whites sign former Oxford defender

JAMES Clarke has become the latest player to join Salisbury City as Darrell Clarke boosts his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The 22-year-old defender played more than 30 games for Oxford United, and was player-of-the-year for Oxford City when they won promotion to the Blue Square Bet North last term.

Darrell Clarke said: “I’m delighted to be bringing James into our squad for the new season.

“He brings in experience of playing at a higher level and I've been very impressed with his winning mentality in the two pre-season games he has played for us.

“I'm sure he will become a fans favorite at the Ray Mac during the new season."

The Whites kick off at home to AFC Hornchurch this Saturday (3pm).
