Weekend of events in a tent
AN evening with Norman Whiteside, top class amateur boxing and this year's Live Wired gig are all on the bill at Salisbury City FC's ground over the weekend of May 22-26.
Former Manchester United and Northern Ireland star Whiteside is the special guest speaker at the Event In A Tent on Friday, May 23 alongside MC and comedian Denis Bundy.
Tickets include a four-course meal, and are on sale now (£50). Book by ringing Val Knight at the club on 01722 3264545.
The event is sponsored by the Salisbury Journal and Glenside Manor and will also feature an auction of sporting memorabilia.
Just 24 hours earlier, the marquee will house an amateur boxing and dinner show, organised by the City of Salisbury ABC.
Salisbury's England ABA Championship semi-finalist Adam Grigg is hoping to be on the bill that evening.

Then on Bank Holiday Monday (May 26), Live Wired 2008 takes place featuring bands such as Pye Shoppe, Mitchell Devastation, ATS, Go Vegas, Post-Script, Go Tell Apollo, Dead Mile, Mary Spender, Splendor and 1994 as well as DJ sets from Your Boyfriends Are DJs.
Advance tickets are £5 and are available from the club and from Fisherton Street-based Stand Out Records. Admission on the door is £6.
