Re-match at the Ray Mac after Adam defeats Pompey star
SALISBURY boxing sensation Adam Grigg showed the skills that took him to semi-finals of this year's English ABA Championships when he defeated Ports-mouth star Mark Coombes.
In front of a partisan Portsmouth University crowd on Thursday, Grigg won with a unanimous points decision against the home favourite, but immediately agreed to a rematch.
The Salisbury welterweight said: "It was a really good, hard fight.
"The crowd were quite hostile - he was very much the local hero. But I got the decision and the crowd appreciated the fact that it'd been a really good fight."
The rematch will be the top of the bill attraction at the forthcoming boxing evening at Salisbury City's Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Thursday, May 22.
"Mark's had 50-plus bouts, so is very experienced. It'll make for a very good rematch," said Grigg.
Many of Salisbury's top young boxers will feature on the bill at the Ray Mac, and tickets are now on sale.
