ZIMBABWEAN teen Brandon Gilmour led Bashley (Rydal) II to the top of the Southern Electric Premier League Division 3 table with a stunning individual performance against South Wilts II at Bemerton.

Having ripped the South Wilts top order apart with a four-wicket spell, Gilmour finished with figures of 5-35 and later made an unbeaten 82 to secure a five-wicket victory for the New Forest club.

The win puts Bashley II top of SPL3 for the first time.

They lead newly promoted Alton II by seven points after five games played, while South Wilts sit in fifth place.

Gilmour began to drive inroads into the South Wilts'

innings from the 12th over onwards, nipping out Sam Pittman (23), Ben Draper and Tom Pearce with the score at 44.

Rob Wade (51), Rob Pittman (27) and Darren Sargent (25) rallied in middle- order before Gilmour returned to celebrate his fifth wicket - South Wilts rallying to finish with 218-7 (Callum Maher 2-16).

Fellow teenager James Underwood, with a league best 91 including 16 fours, underpinned a blistering Bashley run chase - the visitors taking just 34 overs to polish off the target.

Gilmour blazed an unbeaten 81, including two sixes and 11 fours, as Bashley hurtled home at speed.
