SOUTH Wilts will look to close in on retaining the Southern Electric twenty20 cup when they host Basingstoke & North Hants in the quarter-final at Bemerton on Sunday (3pm).
Basingstoke made it through to the last eight with a tight nine-run win at Old Tauntonians & Romsey, defending a modest 125-6.
Craig Williamson (32), Dan Coombes (23) and Steve Bucksey, with an unbeaten 28, guided Basingstoke to 125-6.
Martyn James (3-15) got amongst the OTR top order, but Rob Newman cracked a boundary strewn half-century to keep his side in the hunt.
Dave Pistorious and Williamson took two wickets each as OTs fell short at 116-8.
Andover were skittled for a dismal 71 by Hartley Wintney, who travel to Lymington for their quarter-final.
Only Glyn Treagus (34) got into double figures as Jack Cockram (3-9) and Jamie Teale (2-14) made frequent inroads.
South African Ari Karvelas (43) and Jack Hersh (27) guided Hartley Wintney to a ten-wicket win inside eight overs.
In Sunday's other quarter-final ties, Sarisbury Athletic host Paultons and Tichborne Park play Havant.
