SOUTH Wilts seconds got back to winning ways with a comfortable win over St Cross Symondians seconds.

After an early wicket, Will Wade and Ben Draper put South Wilts on top. Draper swiftly moved to 31 before falling. Wade continued but now in tandem with Rob Pittman who smashed 72 off just 62 balls, including ten fours and three sixes.

Wade was next to go for 70, including 8 fours and a six, but Tom Pearce (42no) ensured the momentum was maintained as the hosts reached 298-8 off their 50 overs.

A flurry of boundaries from the St Cross openers was followed by five quick wickets as the game was effectively ended in the first 15 overs. Dom Ducellier’s 3-24 ripped the heart out of the St Cross batting, although they recovered to finish on 236-9.

Jody Everett’s third team picked up a five-wicket win from the short trip to South Newton. Tim Lampert (44) and D Brown (64) got South Newton off to a solid start. The ageless Tim Moulding (40no) helped the hosts to post 161-6 off their 45 overs. Tom Bolam (2-27) grabbed two wickets from a tight ten overs.
