SOUTH Wilts seconds flexed their muscles for Saturday's visit to table-topping Waterlooville by ending Trojans' five-match winning start in Southern Electric Premier Division 3.

They beat their Stoneham visitors by 33 runs after Trojans had South Wilts in a spot of trouble at 96-6 in the second v third joust at Bemerton.

Young Ben Draper’s 38, which prompted praise from Trojans opener Simon Williams, held things together before Dan Wall, with an invaluable 50, and Ben’s father, the experienced Paul Draper (29 not out), lifted the final score to 203-7 with an unbroken 82-run stand.

Williams (43) and Ed Boyd (18) got Trojans' response off to a sound start, but Christian Pain (4-24) ripped through the top order with a spell which changed the face of the game.

Nigel le Bas's unbeaten 51 kept Trojans afloat, but Dom Webb (2-30) and later Paul Draper (3-14) cut through the lower-order.

Among Draper's haul was Williams, his former Calmore Sports teammate.
