A MUCH-CHANGED fourths travelled to Bournemouth 4ths looking to maintain their winning start to 2015.

On winning the toss, South Wilts elected to bat first on a good looking wicket and a target of 150 firmly in their sights; this however proved to be slightly out of reach closing on 124 in the 36th over (James Wade 27, Ben Richards 23 and Trevor Pittman 20).

This, however, was to prove a day very much for the bowlers as from 83-2 Bournemouth crashed to 104 all out in the 38th over.

Young left arm seamer Josh Croom picking up his first 5 wicket haul for the club in just his second senior game, ably supported by Ben Richards 3-21 and Eddie Stagg and James Wade picking up 1 wicket each.

On a day when availability was at best challenging, it was heartening to see everyone digging so deep and giving everything to secure what was a really positive result. Next week sees another away trip to one of the early pacesetters Bransgore 2nds.
