SOUTH Wilts fourths enjoyed a record-breaking win over Bramshaw seconds.

Stephen Booth, above, thumped the visitors for 136 in about 20 overs on his return from a lengthy shoulder injury. Oliver Hill (38) and Laurence Hely (44no) also contributed in what is believed to be a record club score of 417-5. Double strikes from opening bowlers James Wade and Harrison Tyler set the visitors back but 94 gave them some pride and bonus points. With 282 required off 10 overs, all-rounder Booth was brought into the attack, but it was under-13 skipper Tyler who completed the formalities as Bramshaw were dismissed for 170.

South Wilts thirds secured a crucial win from a tricky away game at East Woodhay. The away side dug in against some accurate bowling from the Woodhay attack. Sam Arnold continued his excellent mid-season form with an almost faultless 83 before having to retire hurt due to an unfortunate nose bleed.

The hosts were left chasing 221 but could only muster 208 as South Wilts ran out victors by 13 runs.

And South Wilts seconds continued their promotion push with a 34-run win at in-form Basingstoke & North Hants 2nds.

South Wilts posted 266-8 off their 50 overs with solid play from 17-year-old Ben Draper (58), Sam Pittman (41) and Rob Pittman (49).

The hosts were well in the chase thanks to Richard Vinn (43) and Andy Giles (77) but four wickets for Tom Pearce (4-35), three for Paul Draper (3-43) and two for Rob Pittman (2-39) kept them at bay.
