SOUTH Wilts under-15s and 11s both have opportunities to win the Wiltshire Youth Cricket Leagues on Sunday after the penultimate junior weekend of the year was ruined by torrential rain.

The teenage group will go into their final game on Sunday level on points with Corsham at the top of the table. The winners will take the WYCL U15 title. South Wilts could only manage a draw in their penultimate match with Swindon.

The under-11s face Swindon at home, knowing that a win will secure them the WYCL title. Their billed title decider with Burbage on Sunday was washed out by the overnight rain.

South Wilts under 11Bs visit Devizes to complete a successful season for what is a mixture of under-9 boys and under-13 girls. Their penultimate game was also washed out at home to Shrewton.

The under-13s completed their season, remaining unbeaten despite a stern test from Corsham on Sunday.

Batting first, South Wilts posted 167-2 off their 35 overs.

The score looked a little lower than expected given only two wickets lost but the run rate was not helped by the damp outfield.
