SOUTH Wilts starlet William Wade, pictured, was left stranded at the non-striker’s end for the last five balls of the innings and fell just two runs short of his century, finishing with an unbeaten 98 against Corsham at Bemerton.
The 17-year-old hit a six and ten four in his 45-over stay at the crease, seeing SW drop to 119-5 before Rob Franklin (27) and Sam Pittman (21) helped the teenager push the final score to 194, writes Mike Vimpany.
South African Dwaine Fielding took a handy 6-18 for Corsham, whose top order was rocked by Luke Evans, taking 3-15 with the new ball.
Corsham were 82-4 when rain caused the match to be abandoned.
