A TOP order collapse, which saw five wickets fall for 19 runs, led to South Wilts' seconds suffering a comprehensive defeat by Southern Premier League Division 2 high fliers Calmore Sports at Bemerton.

The writing didn’t seem to be on the wall when Tom Cowley (35) steered South Wilts to 57-1, but once Paul Proudley (2-27) and left-armer Steve Wright (3-30) created inroads, the innings collapsed.

South Wilts subsided to 75-6, leaving Tom Pearce (28) and Paul Draper to pick up the pieces.

Although Dom Webb trapped Mark Lavelle leg before, Calmore were soon on their way, with opener Tam Goodrich (60), Ben Johns (38) and young Australian Ben Moss, with 28 not out, completing the seven-wicket formalities.
