SOUTH Wilts Under 15s were forced to abandon their Wiltshire League match at Cannings/Potterne as the heavens opened.

With the forecast of impending rain, South Wilts opted to bowl first on winning the toss. Skipper James Wade and Tom Swanton delivered accurate opening spells with Wade striking two early bowls, including the wicket of Wiltshire skipper Harry Clarke.

A young Potterne side battled hard to survive against the visiting attack and managed to total 104 before being bowled out. Wade was the pick with 3-14.

After a long rain delay, Harry Tyler and Jack Stearman set about the task with gusto. In just five overs they had 30 on the board but the rain had returned with a vengeance forcing play to be abandoned.

The Under 13s won their latest match by a seven-wicket margin over Burbage. The visitors could only muster 85 against an accurate home attack.

Ben Higton took 3-10 before South Wilts knocked the runs off with Edward Wade top scoring with 34.

The Under 11B side, a mix of Under 9s and 11s, were too strong for Shrewton. Finn White was the star player as he top scored with 24 as South Wilts scored 119-3. Shrewton finished on 51-9 with White taking 3-7.
