SOUTH Wilts teenager William Wade celebrated his Wiltshire Minor Counties Championship debut in some style with an unbeaten second innings 83 against Devon - but was unable to save his side from a 70-run defeat.
Trailing by 88 runs on first innings after being bowled out for 163 in reply to Devon's 251, Wiltshire were set 302 to win after the West Country side had made another 213.
But apart from Jake Lintott (38), the Wiltshire batting fell apart around the defiant 17-year old Wade, who hit six boundaries in a 190-ball stay at the crease.
Wiltshire were bowled out for 231 in their second innings.
