SOUTH Wilts 3rds recorded successive wins in Hampshire County 3 North to veer into seventh position.

The long journey to Liss was rewarded with an emphatic six-wicket win in double quick time.

On an overly dry surface, under 15 skipper James Wade recorded his best senior figures with 5-28. After taking three early wickets, Jack Richards then bowled a miserly spell of legspin with 9 overs 2-9. Wade then returned to polish off the tail as Liss were all out for just 93.

Batting was never easy and the visitors lost four wickets in reaching their target, but thirties from Archie Knight and Chris Wheeler got the job done for an early trip home.

South Wilts 4ths, meanwhile, remain in runners-up spot in Regional 2 West with just two matches of the season left after a 134-run win over Dorset Indians.

Opening batsmen Jack Stearman and Henry Smith put together a 110-run partnership, with Stearman producing some dazzling shots all around the wicket. He was out for 68 in just the 18th over but Lewis Rutledge (57) joined Smith to put the game well and truly beyond the visitors.

Smith ended up on an unbeaten 114, his second century of the season, as the hosts posted 271-3 off their 42 overs.

Dorset Indians had little hope of chasing down such a challenging total and wickets were shared as they were bowled out in 41 overs for 137. Birthday boy Josh Croom took 2-24 while Chris Chaddock took 3-22.
