ONLY 12 points separate the top four clubs in Southern Premier League Division 2 – with South Wilts seconds watching things unravel with an increasingly keen eye, writes Mike Vimpany.

The top four go head-to-head on Saturday, with misfiring leaders Trojans, beaten three times in the past month, suffering a third defeat to fifth-placed South Wilts.

Trojans won their first eight games, but as the winning post has come into slight, they’ve gone lame.

Trojans twice got themselves into a decent position, with Chris Warne (51) and Ed Boyd (27) easing them to 66 without loss before South Wilts’ spinner began to create inroads.

Only Abdul Manjra (38) shone after that, but Trojans’ 184-9 looked a potential winner when Faisal Raham (3-28) reduced SW to 15-3.

Hampshire under 15 prospect Miles Kantolinna (45) began to turn the tide and his century stand with Sam Arnold, with a match winning 81 not out, sealed Trojans fate.
