JAKE Winter has been in magnificent form back in his native Australia since spending a 504-run summer in ECB British Gas Southern Premier League cricket with South Wilts.

In his opening South Australia West End Grade match for his hometown club Glenelg, the 19-year-old opener thumped 123 against East Torrens.

He followed it up with a best yet 144 for South Australia’s Under-23 side against the ACT in Canberra – an innings which earned selection against the touring South Africans and an innings of 63 against a Proteas attack which included Morne Morkel, Vernon Philander and former Hampshire paceman Kyle Abbott.
