STEEPLE Langford made the trip to table-toppers Odiham & Greywell, where they lost by nine wickets.

2wThe home team didn’t hesitate in putting Langford in to bat.

The Odiham seamers applied early pressure and bowled tight lines. That pressure finally telling with Gary Smith first to go.

This lead to the customary Langford capitulation, with a number of wickets falling. Chris Mundy dug in for a dogged 43, only Adam McNeilly offered support making 20.

Mundy, last to go with Langford finishing 92 all out.

The chase looked a formality until Nick Partridge removed James Taylor.

However, this brought K.Munt to the crease he then struck an impressive 52 not out to guide the home side to an emphatic 9 wicket victory. The win coming inside 20 overs and resulting in just 1 point for Langford.

Langford’s second team continued their impressive season and push for promotion, with a fine 4 wicket win against Ampfield second XI.

Ampfield batted first setting a tricky target of 185-8, Darren Harvey 5-33 and Dave Haugh 2-23 the main wicket takers for Langford.

Langford however were very much indebted to Simon Bailey with a superb 110*, duly supported by 20 from young Joe McNeilly and 32 extras, Langford reached their target in the 38 over securing another great win.
