SOUTH Wilts are set to pitch promising Indian spin all-rounder Sangram Bhalekar into Saturday's ECB Southern Premier Division opener against Burridge, barely 48 hours after arriving in the country.

He will meet his Bemerton team-mates at tonight’s full-scale practice session ahead of his weekend Wilton Road debut.

Bhalekar hails from the famous PYC Hindu Gymkhana Club in Pune and will give South Wilts an added all-round dimension with his left-arm spin complementing his batting.

He is expected to slot into a middle-order batting slot to replace USA-bound James Hayward, who is spending the weekend in Miami on business.

Tom Morton makes his competitive Bemerton comeback, with three successive Premier Division batting awards behind him, the most recent for Ealing in Middlesex County League.

Former England Under-19 pace bowler Arthur Godsal will make his SPL debut and form part of a five-man pace attack.

South Wilts' side to face Burridge is Morton, Cowley, Wade, Draper, Godsal, Sangram Bhalekar, Mynott, Hibberd, Evans, Murray, Warner.

Will Harries, who snapped up 25 wickets for Shrewton in County Division One cricket last season, has joined South Wilts, but his debut has been put on hold.

He will beef up both SW IIs batting and bowling and boost their prospects of an immediate return to SPL2 after last season's relegation.

Rob Pittman’s side face a testing opener at promoted Portsmouth and Southsea, who won Hampshire League, County Division One last season.

But Pittman leads a powerful looking side, bolstered by the return of off-spin all-rounder Rob Franklin.

South Wilts II: Phillips, Berzins, Cranch, Rob Pittman, Pearce, Sam Pittman, Franklin, Booth, Fisher, Matt Burton, Marc Burton.

South Wilts trio Tom Morton, Luke Evans and Ryan Murray are in a 12-man Wiltshire squad for Sunday’s Minor Counties T20 double header against Dorset at Bashley (Rydal).
