Breamore inflict heavy defeat on Andover

Andover IV team made a poor start to the league season in Hampshire League Regional North West 2 division, going down to heavy defeat against Breamore.

Putting the opposition in skipper Phil Knight was hoping for early wickets at London Road 2.

Two early dropped catches on a seaming wicket proved costly as Breamore skipper Shaun Marlow capitalised and went on to score a classy 142 he was well supported by Paul Veit 82 and Simon Dorrington 49 not out as Breamore rattled up a massive 322 for 3.

Andover were lack lustre in the field and paid the penalty. In reply Andover were always going to struggle to get near the score set, the fact they reached even 100 was only due to a partnership of 60 between tailenders Dan Turner 23not out and Fran Andrews 30 not out. Andover finished on 102 for 8 and defeat by 220 runs.
