Damerham Cricket Club had every reason to fear Andover V in the Hampshire League – Regional Division 3 North West before their 115 run defeat at the weekend.
The club managed just 20 in last year’s match. This year, their performance was improved and batting second they managed 82. However it was no match for the 193-6 notched up by their opponents.
Dick Channon hit an unbeaten 72 in Andover’s innings, with Matthew de Pass taking 3-33.
Damerham were soon in trouble against Dave Leavesley, 4-14, as they slumped to 24-6. Luckily skipper Mark Colbourne, 31, steadied the ship and they reached a more respectable score before they were all out in 26 overs.
