SOUTH Wilts’ frustratingly inconsistent form continued on Saturday as they were held to a controversial draw away at Alton.

After batting first and closing on 269-8, with Tom Morton (48), Rob Wade (35), Tom Burrows (56), and James Hibberd (84) the main run scorers, South Wilts looked like being in control.

A South Wilts win looked even more likely when the home side were reduced to 197-9, but, despite some vociferous appeals in the final overs and some controversial umpiring decisions, South Wilts could not get the breakthrough they needed.
