SOUTH Wilts Cricket Club hosted a Minor Counties Championship match this week, as Wiltshire played host to reigning champions Berkshire.
Unfortunately, Wiltshire fell to a heavy defeat in the three-day game, losing by an innings and 35 runs.
South Wilts’ James Hayward bowled 28 overs to take 3-117 as Berkshire powered to 331-6.
In reply, Wiltshire were bowled out for just 60, with only Steve Bullen (13) making double figures. Following on, South Wilts’ James Hibberd (47) batted well but could not stop Wiltshire being bowled out for 236. Wiltshire’s final match of the season is a Championship match against Dorset at Dean Park.
